Chris Shirar
Co-Communications Coordinator
My name is Chris Shirar. I have lived in St. Louis pretty much my whole life. I found out about Maplewood United Methodist Church when my mother was assigned here as Pastor. I was in 7th grade if I recall correctly. Fun Fact: The first MUMC member I met was Bob Harsh. I graduated from Ladue Horton Watkins High School in 2014 and got my bachelor's degree in Studio Art from Hendrix College in 2018. Before my time here, I worked with the Special School District as a paraprofessional. This Summer, I have been getting into gardening. I have several large marigolds I grew from seed. And I have a potted poinsettia that survived the winter and lives outside now. Mostly, I’ve been pulling weeds. If anybody sees this and has any good tips to get marigolds to bloom let me know.
