Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 18 this year. Christians have observed this season of the church year since the fourth century. It’s traditionally a time of reflection, penitence and spiritual renewal before Easter. During Lent, some Christians give up something that hinders their relationship with God. Others do something extra for their spiritual growth or make a special sacrifice. The key is to make Lent a memorable season of sincere spiritual growth — a time that can set the tone for the rest of the year.

Join us on February 18th for a Soup Supper at from 6-7pm followed by our Ash Wednesday Service.

Walking in the footstepsThis year the weekly small groups and Sunday morning worship will be focusing on a study book during Lent called, “The Way: Walking in the Footsteps of Jesus.” The study book, written by Rev. Adam Hamilton, describes the life of Jesus —his baptism and temptation, his ministries— including preaching, healing, associating with the poor and outcast, and his death and resurrection. Opportunities to sign up for small groups will be available soon.

Here are the times for the small group book study:
Sunday, 9:45a.m. Adult Study in the Chapel Room
Tuesday, 7 p.m.(2/24 – 3/31)
Thursday, 7 p.m.(2/19 – 2-26)
Saturday, 8 a.m. First meeting at the church—location of later meetings to be determined by group.

We are considering forming an additional weekday morning group. Please let Pastor Kim know ASAP if you are interested in meeting on a weekday morning.
